DONATION CHECK LIST:
- Clean - Please make sure all clothing and household items are clean and ready to re-homed. Our volunteers put our donated items directly into the shop for our Veterans. Unfortunately, we do have the resources to clean or repair items that are donated.
- Complete and functional - Please include pieces and parts to equipment, furniture, children's games, toys, etc. This helps to ensure that all donations are functional and ready for immediate distribution in the shop.
- Please ensure that all items are bagged/boxed and ready for pick up.
- If our drive needs to enter your home to retrieve heavy/large items, Newby-ginnings is not responsible for any damage to your home or business.
IMPORTANT:
Please bring donations to the Newby-ginnings shop during normal business hours. We will have volunteers ready to help you unload. Unfortunately, as we have no donation bin, we cannot accept donations left outside our facility outside of business hours.

We have a box truck and are happy to pick up large donations! Thank you for choosing to donate to
Newby-ginnings!
Due to our amazing community and high demand for our truck, please call to schedule a pick up at least 2-4 weeks in advance. Scheduling availability may vary (for the better or worse) depending on time of year. Thank you in advance for your patience during our busy months.
Also, because of the high cost of trash removal and dump fees, please be aware that our volunteers may refuse donations of furniture/appliances that are not suitable for direct placement with our clients.
Please Call 208-610-6996 for more information or to schedule a pick up.

As we choose to receive no government or VA funding, Newby-ginnings is completely supported by our generous, local community. Our mission is accomplished with nothing but donations and fundraisers making every day a gift. To all of our past, present and future donors . . . thank you for your support of our mission to improve the lives of those that have served and sacrificed for our country.

Come see our Volunteer Coordinator, Brandi Stordahl. She will provide a one-on-one orientation that includes the history of Newby-ginnings, a tour of the shop, completion of paperwork and a description of the different volunteer opportunities.

Thank you for your interest in hosting a drive for Newby-ginnings! We love and appreciate “Stuff Raisers!” If you and your family, business or organization would like to help stock the shop with needed essentials, HOST A DRIVE! You can help local Veterans, Active Service Members and Gold Star Families in need by collecting such items as towels, kitchen items, bed linens, diapers or food.
We recently hosted a drive for new, in-the-box household items for our newly-housed Veterans. Each new item that was brought in to the shop received a raffle ticket for a beautiful, custom made, patriotic quilt. This helped stock our shelves with hundreds of new items.
- The Coeur Group of Coeur d’Alene hosted a cookware drive for us called “Pan-damonium!” It was a highly successful event that resulted in, literally, truckloads of new and gently used pots, pans and other kitchen essentials.
- The Throttle Sisters MC did a Towel and Coffee Pot drive for us.
- Windermere Real Estate and Heritage Home Loans did a Goods Drive.
- The Kiwanis Club of Coeur d’Alene packed dozens and dozens of toiletry kits for our clients.
- For his Eagle Scout project, Porter Chatwin organized a towel drive for us called “Throw in the Towel!”
This is just to name a few. We live in an amazing community.
